Frequently asked questions
Is the installation difficult?
Basic installation is easy: attach the camera to the windshield and plug it in via the cigarette lighter — done in minutes. A neat, cable-free installation may take a bit more time and patience, but our OBD cable makes that process considerably simpler. No hassle with tucking away loose cables — just plug in and drive. Ideal for those who want a professional result without having to go to an installer.
Does the dashcam have night vision?
Yes, all SafeView dash cams are equipped with a wide-angle lens and advanced image sensor that captures sharp images even in low light. The SafeView Plus and Pro also feature enhanced night vision technology for even better clarity on dark roads and highways.
What happens in an accident?
The built-in G-sensor detects a collision or sudden braking and automatically saves the footage from that moment as a protected file. These files are not overwritten by loop recording, so you always have evidence — even if you don't immediately notice the accident yourself.
Does my dashcam work without a memory card?
No, SafeView dashcams do not work without a memory card — footage is stored locally on the card. Luckily, you don't have to look far: we offer compatible memory cards specifically selected for your SafeView model. Order one right away and you'll be ready to drive immediately.
Are dashcams legal in the Netherlands?
Yes, dashcams are legal in the Netherlands. Footage can be used as evidence in an incident, provided you respect privacy regulations.
Which model is right for me?
Do you simply want certainty? Choose the Core. Do you want more features and insights? Go for the Plus. Do you want the very best? The Pro leaves nothing to chance.
What happens to the images?
Images are stored on a memory card (Core & Plus) or expandable memory (Pro). Loop recording ensures that the card never runs out of space.
Does the dashcam also work when the car is parked?
Yes — all SafeView models support parking mode. As soon as the car is stationary, the dashcam automatically switches to surveillance mode. In the event of movement or an impact, recording starts immediately. Parking mode requires a constant power supply via a hardwire kit or a parking module (sold separately).
